Welcome to Feet Beats Academy of Dance

Section 1 – Joining the academy & Payments

·       Payment is due on the 1st of the month (payment due in advanced) via BAC’s or standing order.

·       Fees are payable even if the student does not attend. You are paying for a space in the class & academy.

·       You have a 2-week trial (2 consecutive classes) where you can leave without paying the terms notice. This is up after the 2nd lesson.

·       When you join the academy you are committing for 1 academic year (Sep- July) If you decide you want to leave the academy before the year, you are required to give ½ a terms notice. Or pay for the current or future term if 7 weeks’ notice has not been given. (Rules since 2015)

·       Late fees incur a 20% charge of the terms fee. If the payment has not been made before the next payment instalment is due, your child will not be allowed to attend until the fee’s are paid in full & the rest of the term.

Section 2- Uniform & behaviour

·       Full Uniform is to be purchased after initial trial. Uniforms are 8-week processing time as they are not made in England. Only 1 order a term is made. Usually at the end of the first month (Sep, Jan, April)

·       Uniform is to be worn to every class this includes correct footwear. Correct footwear is imperative for safety. No canvas shoes, school shoes, uggs or sliders. Dance trainers/sneakers or jazz shoes ONLY.

·       No jewellery & hair is to be tied up.

·       No rude or disruptive behaviour will be tolerated towards members or staff from any parent or student. Expulsion from the academy will be immediate with no refund.

·       Mobile phones are to be put on silent and not to be played/used during class.

·       No photography from students is allowed due to GDPR & safe-guarding rules.

Section 3 – Arriving & departing from the class

·       Students must arrive promptly to class. Late arrival means missing out on warm up & anything over 5 mins, will not be permitted as they miss vital warm up. (unless prior arrangement with Amy or teacher. The student will have to warm themselves up.

·       Children are asked to the loo before the class starts as its very disruptive having children go in & out of class. It is also difficult to watch when they are not in the room with me.

·       All students are expected to wait outside the studio if their class is not on. They are also not permitted to enter until 3 mins before class starts.

·       Parents are to come to the studio collection area (during covid this is through the gate that is located to the right-hand side of the studio & are to walk to the double doors. The younger children are not allowed to escort themselves out or wait in the carpark area alone.) I will stand at the patio doors, which means parents need to be stood on patio. I will not bring children to the car park as I have 15 mins to clean the studio & be covid secure before the next class arrives. Out of ‘Covid’ parents are to wait in the lobby area & Amy or the teacher will see the children out to parent or carer.

·       Senior students are only allowed to wait in lobby area – not carpark. If they are allowed to make own way home, you must inform Amy. Likewise, if the student is going home with another adult not on the enrolment list you must inform Amy at drop off.

·       On entering the studio all students’ belongings are to go in a pigeon holes.

·       Children must sit & wait to be registered – Not running around.

·       When leaving please be respectful of others as Bloomsburys is a retreat. People come here to relax, have treatments etc. This means no running around in the carpark or being loud.

·       Please drive into the carpark with caution & leave slowly as children do walk to & from studio, I have had a couple of complaints about parents entering at speed.

·       Take your litter home & no toileting in the bushes!

·       Children are only in my care while in my lesson (before & after class I can not be responsible for them.)

·       Ensure the children use the loo before lesson. If they need to go during class, I will escort them to the loo, but I can’t assist them.

Section 4 – Complaints, queries & leaving the academy

·       All complaints are to be made in writing.

·       Any queries are to be made during business hours. Any messages out of business hours will not be answered until the following day. This may take longer in busier times.

·       Any worries or concerns about your child or another member of Feet Beats you can contact me or the welfare officer.

·       Please appreciate I do have a young family also. I must ensure boundaries are not crossed. So business related enquiries will not be dealt with out of business hours.

·       If you decide you want to terminate your membership a notice period of ½ term or 7 weeks is to be given. If this notice isn’t given you will be charged for the rest of the term & next term.

Section 5- Cancellation of classes, severe weather plan, Pandemic closure & Refunds

·       If a class is cancelled, I will run a catch-up session. You will be informed via mail shot & I will post on social media.

·       If the weather is severe like flooding, extreme snow & Ice. The classes maybe cancelled for safety reasons.

·       If classes are cancelled, I will run a catch-up session. Refunds will not be possible for one off if you cannot make a catch-up session. In the event of being forced to close by government refunds again will not be offered.

·       Refunds are not offered under any circumstance. Controlling your Direct debits / standing orders is down to you. If you overpay, I will knock off next terms fees. You are given the term dates & amounts to pay & when.

Section 6 – Attendance

·       Attendance & commitment to the academy is paramount. Dance is a disciplined sport that takes continuous training. Tardiness is not an option. I will not reteach routines to people that have missed lessons, they will need to catch up in their own time. It is not fair to the students who come every week.

• If consistent absence from lessons occur, your place maybe given to another student, Weekly attendance is required.

• Refunds are not given if you do not attend the class, the payment is not only for tuition, but for your space in the academy. Spaces are limited.

Section 7 – Photography & Film.

·       Students will be photographed and filmed occasionally in class for social & marketing material. They may be in uniform or costumes. I may also film to watch back & ensure correct critique is given & to check the choreography. This is also for memorabilia. These will not be shared with anyone else & I am happy to provide you with these pictures. If you do not consent to pictures. Please ensure you put it on the enrolment form. If you consent & then with draw your consent, I will still use the pictures but will blur the face of your child. You must send the withdrawal of consent in writing.

Section 8 – Insurance & Injuries

·       My public Liability is with Insure4sport. Whilst I take the utmost care when I am teaching to ensure everyone’s safety, Accidents & Injuries can occur. If a child is hurt in my care, I will ensure I take the correct measures to ensure your child is out of danger & to help them in any way I can. If the accident is severe, I will call the parents & ask them to collect immediately to seek professional help. If the accident is life threatening, I will call the emergency services to ensure the well being of the child. Then the parents. Therefore, it is extremely important to ensure the correct details are given on the enrolment form. If any details change you must notify me.

• Child protection & Safe guarding policies are available on request. These are also published on the website.

• Please keep the T & C’s safe & Sign on the enrolment form. That is your confirmation that you agree to adhere to the above.

Parents pledge

 I hereby agree to all of the terms and conditions set out by Feet Beats Academy, I agree to pay on time, ensure my child arrives promptly & is collected promptly, in full uniform ready for his/her class. On a weekly basis I will encourage my child to work to the best of their ability & support them & the academy.

Students pledge

 I agree to be respectful to my teacher & peers, work hard & not mess around. Always give 100% in my performance. I will not play on mobile phones or other devices nor distract other students. I will arrive in full uniform with hair up in correct footwear. I will ensure when I am in Feet Beats Uniform I will ensure my behaviour is impeccable & understand that I represent my academy. I will never be mean, unkind or bully a peer.
